Anton Paar HTR 7000
About
The Anton Paar 7000 HTR is used to test the rheological properties of the materials from the syringes produced by the formulation system. The process is fully automated from selecting the syringes from the storage rack through placing the dirty plates on the carousel storage after testing. Syringes need to be manually transported from the formulation system and the plates need to be manually cleaned.
MCR 702e rheometer
Temperature controlled syringe storage
Dispenser
Carousel with storage for 30 pairs of plates
24 pairs of parallel plates (25 mm)
Included equipment
MCR 702e
The central part of the HTR is the Anton Paar MCR 702e Multidrive rheometer. The MCR is a high-end rheometer with excellent precision. The system includes a peltier plate and a heated hood which enables excellent temperature control from 5 to 95 ºC. Key performance metrics for the system are:
Temperature range – 5 to 95 ºC
Max. torque - 230 mNm
Min. torque (rotation) - 1 nNm
Min. torque (oscillation) - 0.5 nNm
Max. angular velocity - 314 rad/s
Max. angular frequency - 628 rad/s
Normal force range - 0.005 N to 50 N
Robotic arm
A Kuka Agilus 6-axis robotic arm is included in the system to move the components around the system. The Agilus is a compact robotic arm that provides excellent precision in confined spaces.
The system includes three grippers: one for the syringes, one for the plates and one for the trimming blades. The robotic arm automatically exchanges the grippers as needed to complete the system tasks.

Syringe storage
A temperature-controlled syringe storage rack is included in the HTR. The rack can store up to 30 syringes and the temperature can be controlled from 4 to 40ºC. The temperature is controlled using a Julabo chiller.

Dispenser
The dispenser is used to deposit the material on the bottom plates. Once the syringe has been placed in the dispenser, the rod is lowered until it reaches the plunger. The robotic arm then holds the bottom plate under the syringe. Several key dispensing parameters can be controlled in the software such as the dispense distance, the dispense dwell time and the dispense speed.

Plate storage
A storage carousel is included to store the parallel plate geometry pairs before and after use. The carousel has storage space for 30 geometry pairs. IPML currently has 24 pairs of 25 mm parallel plate geometries.
Auto-trimmer
A key enabling feature of the HTR is the patented auto-trimmer. The auto-trimmer uses a trim blade, spun around the plates, to create the properly loaded sample. The trim speed and the number of trims can be controlled in the software.
